Wynn Las Vegas announced its partnership with Drake on February 28, 2019, with the deal reported at over $10 million. Drake debuted on May 4, 2019, headlining XS Nightclub's 10-year anniversary, then returned for five 2019 performances and was added to the 2020 resident-artist roster alongside Encore Beach Club, per the Wynn Las Vegas press room and Billboard. Both Drake's camp and XS prefer 'partnership' over 'residency' — the difference is that Wynn rebuilt the stage and production for him. XS is also a celebrity nerve center: in 2016 LeBron James and the Cavaliers flew straight from Oakland to XS to celebrate Cleveland's first championship in 52 years, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and on Super Bowl LVIII night in February 2024 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce closed XS down at 5:15 a.m. after the Chiefs' win, per Extra. When Drake plays the Strip, this is where he plays it.
