What Happened: Harrison Ford at the Event

Harrison Ford's first-ever San Diego Comic-Con appearance became legendary for all the wrong reasons. Ford was planned to come out in handcuffs as a joke about being dragged to his first SDCC, but moments before his entrance, someone in the back of Hall H was stabbed in the eye with a pen, triggering a police lockdown. When the panel finally resumed and Ford walked out in handcuffs, the gag read very differently in light of the preceding violence.

Fan Reaction

The crowd was shaken from the stabbing incident but rallied for Ford's appearance. The surreal juxtaposition of real violence and comedic entrance became one of the most talked-about SDCC moments in history.
