Atlanta Braves · Atlanta
Truist Park is the Atlanta Braves' ballpark in suburban Cobb County, northwest of downtown Atlanta. Opened for the 2017 season, it is wrapped by The Battery Atlanta, a year-round mixed-use entertainment district of shops, restaurants and residences.
Address: 755 Battery Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30339
The Braves announced in November 2013 that they would leave Turner Field, their home since 1997, citing the cost of major renovations. Cobb County commissioners quickly approved a deal, ground was broken in September 2014, and the ballpark opened in April 2017 with a win over the San Diego Padres in which Hank Aaron threw the ceremonial first pitch. It was first named SunTrust Park, then rebranded Truist Park in early 2020 after a bank merger. The design deliberately pulls seating closer to the field for an intimate feel, and it became the first MLB park surrounded by a developer-built entertainment district conceived alongside the stadium itself.
The park is built for closeness, with cantilevered decks bringing a high share of seats near the action and a wide canopy shading the upper level. Most fans arrive through outfield gates straight from The Battery, giving entry the feel of strolling out of a festival. Beyond center field, a landscaped water feature erupts after Braves home runs. Monument Garden honors franchise history with a Hank Aaron statue, while the three-level Chop House in right field offers restaurant and party-deck views. Families gravitate to a kids' zone with a zip line.
Local Atlanta names anchor the menu: H&F Burger serves a double cheeseburger descended from the famed Holeman & Finch original, and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q offers brisket, smoked wings and Texas fries. King of Pops provides hand-crafted ice pops.
Pre-purchase parking online, as the closest decks sell out fast for big games; budget options include the free Cumberland Circulator shuttle. Transit riders can take MARTA to Cumberland and connect via the circulator, since no rail line reaches the park directly. Enter through the right-field Chop House gate for the quickest path from The Battery. Arrive when gates open to beat long food lines.
